In the Russian Federation they want to increase the fine for noise from cars five times

A new bill has already been submitted to the State Duma: they plan to increase the fine from 500 rubles to 2,500 rubles. This initiative was taken by the Legislative Assembly of the Trans-Baikal Territory. The document is posted in the legislative activity database of the Chamber of Parliament of the Russian Federation and is under consideration.

Nowadays, vehicles that are too loud are fined 500 rubles under Article 8.23 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. The Legislative Assembly of the Trans-Baikal Territory proposes to increase the amount five times – up to 2.5 thousand rubles, considering the current measures “clearly insufficient.” The document states that the tougher punishment was caused by massive complaints about noise and air pollution from transport.
