The work was carried out by Simpson Design from Washington state, and the car was put up for auction at Bring a Trailer, Carscoops reports.
The car received a new body with a long hood, a wide radiator grille, recessed headlights, multi-spoke wheels and nameplates of the British brand. The interior now features beige seats, woodgrain inserts and a Nardi steering wheel.
Under the hood is the original 2.0-liter Mazda MZR petrol engine with 166 hp. and 190 Nm of torque. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The current bid at the auction has reached $23.5 thousand. This is very serious money for the third generation Mazda MX-5 (NC), notes Carscoops.
The project is based on a 2007 Mazda MX-5 (Miata) coupe with a mileage of 42 thousand kilometers.
