iSeeCars lists 10 car brands with the largest number of recall campaigns

The research agency’s study is based on data from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) over the past year and 30-year vehicle life expectancies.

According to the report, Ford is recognized as the most problematic manufacturer. Between April 2025 and March 2026, the American auto giant and its luxury sub-brand Lincoln recalled nearly 20 million vehicles for repairs—more than all other brands combined.

Second place by a huge margin was taken by Toyota (about 4.1 million recalls), and the third place was closed by Chrysler (Stellantis), which recalled 3.4 million vehicles.

The list also includes Hyundai (1.85 million cars), Nissan (1.55 million), Subaru (1.2 million), General Motors (1.16 million), Honda (935 thousand), Volvo (845 thousand) and Volkswagen (836 thousand).
