Rossiyskaya Gazeta found out that the company of the ATS Group of Companies, which is engaged in the development and release of new Lada models, is considering creating Aura CNG. “We are doing work on a number of beaten -free projects in which natural gas is used as fuel,” the ATS told reporters. “We are considering the possibility of applying such technologies on Lada Aura, but it is still too early to declare the implementation of this project.”
Lada Aura is a business bar, which is a “stretched” version of Vesta. It has a wheelbase increased by 250 millimeters, more space for passengers on the second row, original rear doors, a leather interior, a premium audio system, a redesigned suspension and improved sound insulation. The engine is a 1.8-liter EVO with a capacity of 122 horsepower, which is paired with a variator. So far, the aura only works on gasoline.

At the same time, the “donor” Vesta has a bit fuel option. Lada Vesta CNG was shown at the end of last year: the Vesta Cross Cross-UNIVERSAL in Top-complection of Techno with a 1.8 engine and variator became a demonstration copy. 90-liter Chinese-made cylinders were placed in the trunk, removing the spare wheel. According to the “ATS” estimates, the stroke on methane is up to 250 kilometers, and a 55-liter gas tank is also preserved. AvtoVAZ plans to sell 1.5 thousand cars with factory gas -tank equipment per year.
Previously, Vesta CNG was produced in the form of a sedan at the initial levels of equipment and was mainly oriented towards taxi fleets.
I return to Lada Aura, in the first quarter of 2025, 118 copies of this model were sold in Russia (Avtostat data). Prices for business sedan start from 2,599,000 rubles. Most of the Lada Aura at the beginning of the year purchased legal entities. They accounted for 73 percent of cars or 86 copies. And only 27 percent (30 pieces) acquired individuals.
