A motorist whose car has been damaged at a service center must correctly record the resulting defects. Automotive lawyer Lev Voropaev said this in an interview with Motor magazine.

“It is necessary to indicate in the vehicle acceptance certificate that the vehicle was damaged during the provision of services. If the service does not provide any documents (including this act), you should definitely film the damage,” the lawyer noted.

Voropaev advised motorists to shoot videos in such a way that it would be clear that the vehicle is being serviced. In addition, you need to record the address and name of the technical center.

Afterwards, law enforcement officers should be called so that they record the circumstances of the incident.

After the incident, it is important to assess the damage and send a claim to the car service center demanding voluntary compensation for losses. If the workshop refuses, you need to go to court. It is highly likely that the court will recover not only the cost of damage, but also a fine for refusing to satisfy the consumer’s demands.
