The government will likely oblige technical inspection points to video record each stage of diagnosis and send the recordings to a unified control system. In addition, for cars between 7 and 9 years old, a mandatory annual inspection will presumably be introduced, which will not depend on a change of owner. Lawyer Lev Voropaev spoke about this in an interview with Gazeta.Ru.
“Obviously, certain requirements will be tightened for the points that conduct this technical inspection: for their technical equipment, the qualifications of employees, the equipment of the technical part in terms of photo and video recording of the entire process,” the lawyer said.
Voropaev noted that today many drivers only pretend that they are undergoing a technical inspection: they drive into a checkpoint, stay there for some time (this is recorded by cameras), and then leave without really checking the car.
According to the lawyer, the government may introduce mandatory photo or video recording of each stage of technical inspection with subsequent transfer of data to a unified control system.
In addition, the auto lawyer expects stricter requirements for cars over a certain age (for example, 7-9 years): they will probably be required to undergo technical inspection annually, regardless of the change of owner.
