The German automaker has carried out the second restyling of its flagship electric car. Experts call the car an “absolute disaster” as buyers simply ignored it. In 2024, the company had to organize an emergency restyling, which brought a traditional grille and an enlarged battery.
For an additional fee, the steer-by-wire system will now be available, that is, electric control without a mechanical connection between the steering wheel and wheels. In this case, instead of the traditional steering wheel, a steering wheel is installed.
The model has been converted to 800-volt electrical architecture. A new traction battery has also been announced: its capacity has been increased from 118 to 122 kWh, but the dimensions remain the same.
The Airmatic suspension pre-adjusts shock absorbers for passing obstacles based on data from other cars of the German brand – the updated S-Class previously received a similar chassis.
As for the appearance, the sedan has updated bumpers, a different radiator grille and improved lighting technology, which is 40% more efficient than the previous one.
The range will include modifications EQS 400 (367 hp), EQS 450+ (408 hp), EQS 500 (476 hp), and EQS 580 (585 hp). The two older versions have dual-motor all-wheel drive.
