Under this name, the South Korean Ssangyong, which is familiar to the Russians, is returned. Moreover, this is not another camouflage brand invented for Russia: Ssangyong, having experienced difficult times, was renamed at home. The importer of the revived “Koreans” is the Moscow Region RAX Motors, which brought four models at once – the crossovers Tivoli, Korando, Torres and the flagship SUV Rexton. Sales will start in March 2025.
The crossovers Tivoli, Korando and Torres are equipped with the same bunch of a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 163 horsepower (280 nm of torque) and the classic six-band Aisin machine gun. The “junior” Tivoli is only the front drive, and Korando and Torres will also be offered in all -wheel drive versions with the BorgWarner coupling.
Rexton crowning line is offered with a 225 forces long -range two -liter engine (350 Nm of the moment); The drive is complete. All machines have a Russified multimedia system with support for Apple Carplay and Android Auto, “warm” options and double galvanizing body. However, there is no additional anti -corrosion treatment, as well as an enlarged glass of the glass gunner. Its capacity is four liters.
Cars will be supplied from the Korean factory, and the guarantee will be five years or 100 thousand kilometers of mileage, depending on what will come earlier. There will be no problems with the availability of spare parts, the distributor assures: they will be supplied from the warehouse in the suburbs or carry them from Korea, which will take from 12 to 60 days. There will be branded motor oil, the production of which is established at the Top Lubrikants plant in the Kaluga region.

Prices are impressive: the cost of Tivoli starts with 3,590,000 rubles, Korando – from 4,390,000, Torres – from 5,150,000, and Rexton is estimated at 6,790,000 rubles at least. Rax Motors notes that these are the prices are higher than that of the Chinese, but lower than for parallel imports. By the way, KGM is not “parallel”: approval of the type of vehicle (OTTS) was obtained for all cars except Rexton. The flagship must acquire a document by March. The company also promises various shares: a subsidized rate of 0.01 percent, installments, Trade-in and so on.
The main bet is made on Torres: it is expected that it will have about 60 percent of sales. The share of Korando and Rexton will be 25 and 10 percent, respectively, and only five percent of the audience is being read out the Tivoli monoprodic Tivoli.
A few years ago, Ssangyong was on the verge of disappearance: the sales went badly, the company gained debts and announced bankruptcy. Help came in the person in the person of the KG Group chemical concern, which bought the car manufacturer’s assets. Having gained a new owner, Ssangyong changed the name to KGM (from KG Mobility).
The plans for the development of a new emblem, but so far it is the same (and recognizable) – the wings of two dragons. Ssang is translated from Korean as a “couple”, and Yong is “Dragon”.

Tivoli is a 2015 sample crossover, which was sold in Russia until the brand left in 2018-2019. It has a 4.2-meter body, a 178-mm road clearance and a 50 liter-out tank. The average fuel consumption is seven liters per 100 kilometers in the mixed cycle. The crossover has diode headlights of a projection type and a rear spoiler with a stop signal. The decoration of the salon with the built -in screen of the media system is quite consistent with the age of the model.
At the same time, the equipment list has LED headlights, electric mirrors, dual-zone climate control and parking sensors in front and back, rear view camera, non-awake access, as well as seven electronic assistants, including lifting and descent assistance systems. Brutal KGM Torres is the latest model, although it was created, like others, under the Ssangyong brand. The crossover, represented in 2022, has angular design from the outside and inside, a cluster with 12.3-inch screens (it appeared later-in 2023), eight eirbegs, adaptive cruise control and a set of driver assistants.
With a length of 4.7 meters of Torres, we compare with the Nissan X-Trail and has an impressive trunk volume: from 703 to 1662 liters, depending on the position of the back of the rear row seats. There will be five configurations.

Finally, the three-row Rexton, which the importer calls the “Korean Prado”, will receive a full-sized spare wheel, wheels with a diameter of 18 or 20 inches and two separate 12.3-inch display in the cabin, for which two colors will be offered-black and beige. Four flowers are four to choose from.
Depending on the version (two of them), the list of equipment will include heating all seats, safety curtains from the back, ventilation and electric drive of the front seats, the lighting of the passenger compartment and door handles. In the trunk, it can fit until 1977 liters if you fold the backs of the third and second rows. Rexton has a frame design, an independent suspension with double transverse levers in the front, and five -leafed in the back. The drive is full, with a rigidly connected front axle and lowering gear.
At the start of sales, KGM will have 40 dealerships (of which nine in Moscow and five in St. Petersburg), and by the end of the year another 30 will be added.
The plans are expanding the model range. So, closer to the fall, a novelty will appear in the line – the new generation of Actyon. Neither diesel nor electric cars are going to Russia yet, but the pickups are in question: perhaps they will appear in a year. But in the fall of 2025, production will be put on the Kaliningrad Avtotor, with which an agreement has already been signed. Perhaps this will positively affect prices.
