Motor.ru seems to bring good luck! In May, our logos appeared on the racing machines of the Innostage Ag Team team from the top -end class of the Russian ring. And after the first racing weekend, our partnership team for the first time in its history entered the leaders of the Russian Championship! Already this weekend – the next stage, on the Igor Drive highway.
“I was tormented with a fragment in the eye, and the team called out a showdown,” recalls Yegor Sanin, the leader of the Russian championship, last year’s events on the Igor Drive highway. Then, in the course of training at a speed of about 240 km/h in the Audi RS3 windshield, on which Yegor speaks, the part from the car that was riding ahead.

“The small fragment of glass fell into the eye, and all night I was tormented because of it-fortunately, in the end he just fell out,” Yegor continues-the problem was that by this moment there was already a spare windshield, and we had no more spare. And while I was tormented with a fragment, the team called the showdown in search of glass … But in the end, everything ended well: then I finished both races in the first three.
In general, even those whose result is lower than the expected remains from the highway near St. Petersburg. Fast twists, “stretched” to the relief with a height difference of 20 meters, provide the riders with a very special sensation. There is a joke about Paddok about a pair of pilots, who were seen smiling only once – after they first drove the third sector of Igor Drive (where the most impressive turns are just).
Spectators will be able to evaluate the autodrome this weekend – in the course of two races with the participation of Innostage Ag Team. The first race will be held on Saturday at 15:30, the second – on Sunday at 12:00 (you can follow direct broadcasts here). And in anticipation of the races on Igor Drive, it will be appropriate to remember how our team was able to go to the leader of the season in the course of the first racing weekend, held in May in the Moscow Region.
If you put at the forefront of the number of points scored, then the main character of the opening of the season for Innostage Ag Team is Egor Sanin mentioned above. Two prize finished housing plus leadership in the overall standings … It would seem that everything is obvious – and it is precisely the exploits of the rider from Ulyanovsk that should cause maximum positive emotions in the Volga team. But in fact, the most emotional moment was the victory of Pavel Kalmanovich in the second race.
This second race is a kind of race. In a sense, it is carried out “in favor of the poor.” Or in favor of the audience. The fact is that the fastest weekend of the weekend-the one who won the qualifications-starts in the second race from 10th position. And from the first place it goes into battle, on the contrary, the pilot, which showed the 10th time.
This was done for the sake of struggle on the highway. Plus, those who are in speed lags behind the leaders, have a chance not to lag behind points too much (however, according to the results of the second race, fewer test points are awarded than according to the results of the first, with the “normal” start of the start).
Kalmanovich was just supposed to start from Pula in the second race – but he did not believe in the possibility of success so much that he suggested almost abandoning the start. The fact is that the Togliattinets performs at the middle -aged Hyundai i30 N – and the alignment of the forces at the opening of the season was clearly not in favor of Korean hatchbacks. At the same time, you should not think that I30 N, due to its age, has become broken or is very inferior because of the outdated structure. An important role is played by the alignment scheme of forces.
European experts from time to time instruct all “users” of one or another racing model to change one or another parameter: “strangle” or “dissolve” the motor, increase or reduce road clearance, take on board or drop a portion of ballast. And these instructions are followed by participants in the competition on TCR cars around the world. The main task is to prevent the dominance of one model.
But also this measure is used as motivation to update the technique more often. For new models, conditions are made more attractive, and for middle -aged, on the contrary. For example, several copies of the new generation of the Leon Cupra racing hatchback racing hatchback appeared in the Peelton of the Russian Peelton at once. And these machines, by decision of experts, should go to a start with a mass of 40 kg less than that of the i30 n.
On a more winding highway – for example, in Nizhny Novgorod – even such a weight difference is not a sentence. But on the Moscow Raceway, where there was a straight length of a kilometer, it seemed that competitors on Leons would quickly “eat” Kalmanovich. Indeed, at the end of this direct, the difference in speed between I30 N and Leon was more than 5 km/h – which, by racing standards, is a lot.
However, in the first circles of the race, the opponents cut off each other in earnest, gave Pavel the opportunity to tear themselves away – and did not manage to eliminate this gap before the finish. And the Innostage AG Team team recorded the first victory in the season.
However, in the second race, the first gathering was recorded in the season. Moreover, the gathering as a result of the collision of the Innostage agriculture agents among themselves! The rivals “biting” with each other were talked about so that Yegor Sanin and Rustam Fathutdinov, which were traveling followed, had nowhere to go. Audi Yegor has withstood this contact – but on Leon Cupra Rustam pushed the steering rod to the rotary fist.
Unfortunately, the list of damage did not end there – they worked on its replenishment … Marshals who evacuated the car from the security zone. Raising the car with a manipulator, they did not take into account the distribution of weight, and Cupra at some point rested almost all the weight on the front splitter. Which has broken down – plus the bumper cracked, minor damage received wings.
Theoretically, the crack in the bumper can be sealed with a special resin. But in this zone, the detail will lose its initially embedded flexibility – and very soon a new, even longer crack will form. If even after that, prefer the repair of the bumper to replace it, over time the weight of the resin used will make the part not cast -iron, but very heavy. Attempts to receive compensation for damage to the car from the autrod is an ungrateful business. When submitting an application for participation in competitions, the team signs a document, which, in fact, is a refusal of any claims. Therefore, compensation is paid only in exceptional cases – and the most stubborn teams.
Moreover, this is by no means talking about penny amounts. The elimination of damage to the steering traction cost Innostage Ag Team less than 100,000 rubles. And the inaccurate of Marshals brought the estimate for repair to almost a million – after all, Bamper and Splitter cost about 350,000 rubles each.
Starting cooperation with Innostage Ag Team, we have already told readers about what our team is not like others – for example, only it does not enjoy the support of large oil companies. But this is far from the only difference. For example, among other groups of the Russian championship there are no those who would be ruled by friends from childhood.
“Pavel Kalmanovich in our team is much more than the pilot,” says Dmitry Dudin, by and large, he runs the entire range of works with racing cars. Pavel stood at the very origins of the team and advised its founders to invite me. He advised – because I knew me well: we are the best friends since childhood and still remain them. And another of our common very close friend Ivan Karpov works in the team one of the leading engineers.
We studied with Ivan in the same class, and we met Paul in the section on the picture, where we came in one day-and somehow made friends with the first. Since then, we had a lot of funny stories. For example, when we were 17 years old, we worked in the winter in the winter: we collected signatures during the day, and in the evening we broke competitors’ leaflets and glued their own. In this, Vanin was very helped by the family “four”, which worked on gas and in which the full tank cost only 300 rubles. As I remember now: when we got the money, we tucked the car, bought it by khachapuri and went to the local ice cardodrome at night, where we took turns for a while …
Pavel’s career was not interrupted and continues until today-and at some point I stopped performing, went to study at the institute. But Pavel constantly threw me options for returning to the motorsport, and at some point the race again became for me the main occupation in life. ”
Recall that the second stage of the Russian championship in the most prestigious class of SMP TCR Russia will be held on the Igor Drive highway near St. Petersburg on June 21 and 22.
