Since the beginning of the year, the Motor1 magazine team has tested 23 new cars during everyday use on public roads. Based on the test results, experts named models that have the best fuel efficiency.

In the preliminary annual ranking of the most economical models, the plug-in hybrid is the leader – the 272-horsepower Audi Q3 with an average fuel consumption of 3.35 l/100 km. The Chinese Geely Starray EM-i showed a result of 3.45, and the Skoda Kodiaq PHEV – 3.60 l/100 km.

As experts note, the Volkswagen Golf, equipped with a classic diesel engine, showed a comparable result – 3.50 liters/100 km. This was made possible thanks to a 2.0-liter TDI engine producing 150 hp, which is combined with a 7-speed DSG robot.
