New Russian car brand EOYX has been launched

The brand was created by the Autotor Kaliningrad plant and is intended for electric cars, which the company will produce together with the eastern partner – which one is not specified. The press service of Autotor said that the EONYX brand models belong to the L7 category (heavy quadricies/vulgaris), and it is planned to use them in city services, delivery services, in industrial territories and airports.

Two Eonyx models will stand on the Autotor conveyor, which are currently undergoing a certification procedure. Both will be included in the program of deep localization and adapted for operation in the Russian climate. In electric cars there will be components (including critically important) Kaliningrad production – namely electric motors, inverters, gearboxes, electronic systems, batteries and others.

The premiere of Eonyx models is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025. The first specimens are already produced on one of the lines in the Autotor experimental production workshop, and during the year they will be assembled at a new factory of compact electric vehicles, which is currently being prepared for launch. A robotic line on the basis of AGV platforms, an automated line of welding and painting of frame and panels of the bodies will be used there. The design capacity of the new site will be 50 thousand cars per year.

In parallel, Avtotor is engaged in the project to create its own electric car on the “technologically independent Russian platform”. The launch of pilot production is also scheduled for 2025. This model will receive the name A1 and will be sold under the existing brand of Ambustravo. Now Autotor is at the stage of technological tests of individual nodes and structural elements.
