Officially: Maserati and Alfa Romeo will have to unite for survival

The General Director of both brands Santo Filichi told Australian and Asian journalists that the plan of cardinal changes on the table at the new Stellantis boss. The top manager said that the official statement will be made on June 23, but revealed some details. In particular, the head of Alfa Romeo and Maserati announced the mutual unification of two brands.

“We will find synergistic effects where it is possible,” Santo Filichi spoke out without abyss. However, the merger of speech has not yet been going on: while Alfa Romeo and Maserati will use more common platforms and functions. “Of course, we are ready [к совместной] development of new products. Italian companies are in a vulnerable position due to Trump’s duties: about 30% of Maserati sales and 15% of Alfa Romeo sales were in the United States. Nevertheless, Stellantis is not ready to sell subsidiary brands for image reasons. However, the new boss of the concern Antonio Philos can reconsider the predecessor’s plan.
