Old Toyota HiAce minivan turned into a racing simulator

According to the publication Road and Track, specialists from the American company Javan Imports took over the re-equipment of the car. Thanks to the use of a powerful personal computer, users can participate in virtual races while sitting in the driver’s seat of a Japanese car.

In the interior of the minivan, the developers installed a gaming computer based on an Intel i9 processor and an Nvidia RTX3080-Ti video card. This hardware allows you to run most modern video games. In particular, while driving a Toyota HiAce, users can take part in the Assetto Corsa, Beam NG, WRC23, and Forza races. The image from the virtual world is displayed on three screens at once, replacing the windshield.

To connect the minivan steering wheel with a computer controller, specialists used a network adapter. During games, users have access to standard car controls. In addition, a vibration stand is integrated into the simulator, simulating changes in engine speed. Specialists will continue to develop their development, improving feedback.

In March last year, supercar manufacturer Pagani presented its own racing simulator. The developers took the Huayra R model as the basis for the project.
