In 2026, the Cayenne Electric model range was expanded with a new S version. It combines supercar-level dynamics, faster charging and extensive personalization options. Carscoops reports this.
The technical characteristics of the new product look more than convincing. The twin-engine unit develops 536 hp. in standard mode and 657 hp. when using the Launch Control system. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.6 seconds, top speed is limited to 250 km/h. For a family-sized crossover, these are exceptionally high figures, achieved, among other things, by borrowing solutions from the flagship version.
For comparison, the base Cayenne Electric develops 435 hp. With overboost, it accelerates to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds, runs the quarter mile in 13.2 seconds, and has a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h).
The power plant includes two synchronous electric motors with permanent magnets. The rear unit is equipped with a direct oil cooling system, which removes heat directly from the live elements, which contributes to stable performance under high loads. The rear motor inverter is made of silicon carbide semiconductors and is designed for current up to 620 amperes.
To maximize the performance of the new Cayenne S, optional packages are available: Porsche Active Ride adaptive suspension, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, carbon ceramic brakes and the Sport Chrono package including push-to-pass function. Activating the latter provides a power increase of 120 hp. within ten seconds.
