Sollers began producing Atlant with an imported gearbox

Atlant, following the Argo, received a Russian six-speed gearbox, which began to be produced in February of this year at the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant (ZMZ). The Sollers press service noted that it took less than two years to import substitution of the main components and assemblies: during this time, it was possible to localize 2.0 and 2.7 liter diesel engines, gearboxes, stamped body parts, chassis components, exterior and interior parts , as well as electrical and electronics.

The production of six-speed “mechanics” was launched at the beginning of this year at the new Sollers Transmission Production plant on the territory of the ZMZ industrial park. The capacity of the production line is 50 thousand boxes per year, and it can be quickly converted to different types of units. It was previously reported that the “mechanics” are produced under a license purchased from JAC.

Sollers

Sollers’ next step in import substitution is domestic components of the safety system, namely steering wheels, airbags, belts, as well as electronic control units. Currently, active preparations are underway for the launch of their production.

It turned out that the updated Sollers Atlant will be better than the JAC. UAZ will begin assembling new SUVs and pickups: the Sollers list revealed the parameters of the Russian-assembled 7-seater minivan

Meanwhile, Atlant is preparing for a refresh scheduled for 2025, with production starting in March and sales starting in May. Earlier, Motor found out that during the restyling, the commercial family will have a media system with a touch screen, a rear view camera, a blind spot monitoring system and adaptive cruise control.

In addition, Atlant will receive domestically produced seats, corrosion resistance will be improved and the thickness of the paintwork will be increased. But the development of an all-wheel drive transmission has been paused: there is already developments, but the economics of the project are not working out.
