The Subaru Ascent has been in production for almost ten years, and after the 2023 restyling, the model has hardly been updated. Therefore, buyers lost interest in this crossover. Carscoops reports this.

In April, the outdated crossover unexpectedly outsold three Subaru electric vehicles. Ascent sold 3,472 units, which is 1,419 units higher than the total of Solterra, Trailseeker and Uncharted.

Solterra’s sales rose 18.9% despite the elimination of the federal tax credit, beating expectations. Probably the reason was the recent update of the model: the car received an upgraded power plant and a more capacious battery, which increased the range to 463 km.

The Trailseeker and Uncharted models just started arriving in dealerships last month, so it’s too early to gauge their success. However, their entry into the lineup has already allowed Subaru of America to update its monthly record for electric vehicle sales.
