The Chinese will resurrect the Spanish manufacturer of SUVs

Apparently, now the Spaniards will release the turned versions of the Dongfeng and Nissan pickups – the same Frontier Pro, recently presented at the Shanghai car dealership.

The Spanish company Santana, which in the past producing licensed Land Rovers and SUVs IVECO Massif, will return to life thanks to the Chinese. According to Autocar, a whole line of new models is planned, one of which will be a pickup. And since it will finance all this SP Zhengzhou Nissan, most likely, the truck will be a close relative of Frontier Pro. Even a set of power plants hints at this: diesel or plug-in hybrid.

Actually, Frontier Pro debuted in Shanghai with a benzoelectric power plant – it consists of a “turbocharging” 1.5 and an electric motor integrated into a transmission. Combined return – 408 horsepower and 800 nm of torque. The drive is complete, with an optional electronic locking of the rear differential. Driving profiles are four: Hybrid, Pure Electric, Performance and Snow.

But the Nissan Dongfeng Z9, from which it turned out to be Frontier Pro, has a diesel 2.3 in the range. Depending on the gearbox and the type of drive, its power is 147/190 horsepower, and the torque varies from 380 to 500 nm. The Z9 itself is something like a car for all occasions. But Santana will position its models as cars for Offrooud enthusiasts – that is, in fact, these will be competitors in INEOS.
