General Director of the Data Center Mikhail Kizlyk said that road cameras are technically ready to record speeding with a non-fine threshold of 2-3 km/h instead of the current 20 km/h. RBC reports this on its Telegram channel.
“If you look at the passport of the latest modern photo-video recording camera, the error indicated is 1 km/h. That is, technologically the cameras are ready to record speed with a minimum error. We are always “for” […] You can set 2-3 km/h,” said Mikhail Kizlyk, general director of the Traffic Management Center, in an interview with RBC Radio.
According to Kizlyk, the Data Center supports lowering the threshold, but the final decision remains with the government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
