The Deepal S07 crossover received five stars in the crash test

The compact SUV has successfully passed the European test Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Program), reports the press service of Changan, the parent company of Deepal. Experts checked the protection of passengers, children, pedestrians and cyclists in a collision, and also assessed the performance of active safety systems – emergency braking assistants, lane keeping and speed control systems.

The protection of adult occupants of the Deepal S07 was rated at 95 percent. According to Changan, this indicator is one of the best in the class. Frontal, side and rear impacts were simulated.

Child protection received a rating of 87 percent thanks to the clever design of the cabin, Isofix mountings and the front airbag deactivation function for rear-facing child seats. In addition, Deepal is equipped with a system for detecting forgotten children in the car.

Pedestrian safety is rated at 74 percent. Automatic emergency braking (AEB) with object recognition, which also works at night, helped here. 77 percent were equipped with active safety technologies, including a speed control system, a lane keeping assistant and a driver condition monitoring system.

Deepal’s entry into the Russian market is planned for the first half of next year. The brand was created in China in 2022. The S07 crossover (S7 in China) is equipped with a 258-horsepower electric motor on the rear axle, which is powered by a 66.8-kilowatt-hour battery. The power reserve will be up to 540 kilometers.

Deepal did not officially disclose the line for Russia, but in August of this year information appeared that Russians would be offered a small crossover, the Deepal S05. Judging by the information about the crash test, the 4.75-meter S07/S7 will also accompany it. Also among the contenders are the SL03 and L07 liftbacks and the large, angular SUV G318.
