He admitted that for a long time the company was fatally mistaken: safety and quality were in the first place, and the appearance of the cars remained secondary, IT Home reports.
“The mistake we made in the past was that we emphasized internal safety and quality when creating cars, but perhaps did not pay attention to the appearance. I’m introspecting, I apologize, this is a lesson we have learned. Now we attach special importance to appearance,” said Yu Chengdong, head of Huawei’s automotive division.
According to him, new Huawei cars will not only be of high quality, but also stylish and beautiful.
He also noted that new car models are already finding a response among the audience: 40% of buyers of new products are women, another 30-40% are iPhone users.
Huawei does not make cars under its own name, but creates technologies for cars of five partner brands in the HIMA alliance. These brands are Aito, Luxeed, Stelato, Maextro and SAIC Shangjie.
