Driver’s licenses that were scheduled to expire between January 1 and December 31, 2022 will become invalid in 2025. TASS writes about this with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. There is no talk of canceling the deferment, the ministry clarified: this year the three years for which the validity of the certificates were previously extended will expire.
In 2022, a government decree was issued according to which driver’s licenses that expired from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023 were extended for three years. Later, another resolution similarly extended the rights valid until December 31, 2025.
“Driving licenses that have an expiration date from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022 in column 4b are considered valid throughout the Russian Federation for three years from this date,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified.

That is, the license will have to be replaced for drivers whose license has passed three years from the expiration date specified in the document.
