The development of this model for the Chinese sub-brand Audi (which uses the AUDI name without the four rings) has been officially confirmed. At the same time, the brand’s first electric car, despite a strong start, is already losing popularity. Audi’s partnership with SAIC in China is developing: after last year’s E5 Sportback and the upcoming E7X, a third model is planned, reports Carscoops.

The German automaker’s decision to create an AUDI sub-brand with an emblem without the four rings caused mixed reactions, but it only underlined the growing importance of the Chinese car market.

At an event in Beijing, Fermin Soneira, CEO of the joint venture between Audi and SAIC, told Reuters that a third model was already in development. He described it as a premium sports limousine, but details are still being kept secret.

Notably, Audi, through a joint venture with FAW, has just introduced the new A6L e-tron luxury sedan in China. The model will be produced in Changchun. This is a stretched version of the A6 e-tron, built on a PPE platform with 800-volt technology.
