The traffic police will prohibit the control of cars with citizens with poor health indicators

A similar bill, adopted in the first reading, again fell into consideration in the State Duma. According to amendments, the department will be able to independently decide on the recall of a driver’s license, without waiting for a regular ten -year medical examination. At the same time, motorists will be able to return the document after undergoing treatment.

According to the bill, employees of medical institutions will reveal the presence of contraindications to the management of cars with citizens, and then direct drivers for surveys. If the contraindications are confirmed, doctors will send information to the base of the Ministry of Health, from where the traffic police will be able to get the data, who will cancel the rights. A similar sanction is provided for when not appearing a citizen for examination.

Drivers will be given three months to undergo examination. At this time, citizens will be allowed to drive transport. At the same time, it will be possible to pass the medical board only in licensed institutions. In the case of elimination of contraindications, doctors will conduct a check, according to the results of which information will be transmitted to the traffic police.

The bill provides for the rejection of physical medical certificates. After receiving access to the traffic police to the base of the Ministry of Health, inspectors will be able to track all indicators of motorists in electronic form.

The provision of access to the traffic police to the database of the Ministry of Health became known in 2022. Then experts said that access to medical secrets will reduce the number of accidents.
