The Volga K40 crossover, having passed the mandatory certification procedure, received Vehicle Type Approval (VTA). Receipt of this document gives the Volga brand the right to open sales of these Russian-assembled cars.
The Volga K40 crossover is based on the Geely Atlas. The initial versions of the K40 will receive a 1.5-liter engine with 147 hp, front-wheel drive and a 7-speed automatic transmission, while the top versions will have a 2-liter engine with 200 hp, all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The revived Volga is a Russian brand launched in 2026 by the Passenger Car Production (PLA) company in Nizhny Novgorod. Essentially, these are Chinese models adapted for the Russian market.
Earlier, a car transporter transporting a Volga C50 sedan and a Volga K50 crossover was spotted near a car dealership of one of the large dealer networks in Nizhny Novgorod.
