The volumes of the release of new cars and trucks in Russia are disclosed

According to Rosstat, in the first two months of 2025, Russian car factories produced 115 thousand cars and 22.4 thousand trucks. If we compare this with the indicators of the same period of 2024, then the production of cars increased by 12.8 percent, and the trucks, on the contrary, decreased by 20.1 percent. The latter is explained by the cooling of the Russian car market under the pressure of bets and a decrease in the dynamics of cars from China.

If we consider the results of the last winter month, then in February 60.8 thousand cars were produced in the country, and this is 6.8 percent more than a year earlier. Over the same period, 13.5 thousand trucks went off the conveyors – 11.1 percent less than in February 2024. Statistics on buses with an acceptable maximum mass of more than five tons are also given: in February, their production collapsed by 38.7 percent, up to 838 pieces, and in January-February it is even stronger-41.9 percent, up to less than 1.4 thousand copies.

From the release of Rosstat it follows that internal combustion engines for vehicles in Russia in February were released in the amount of 19.2 thousand units (+2.5 percent), and from the beginning of the year-32.7 thousand pieces (-1.7 percent). The production of bodies for February fell by 34.5 percent, to 2.3 thousand units, and in January-February-by 24.3 percent, to 4.7 thousand.

In total, in January and February 2025, the market for new vehicles (including passenger, light commercial, truck and bus segments) fell 12 percent, to 193.9 thousand cars (data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade based on EPTS registrations).

Parks were sold in the amount of 165.9 thousand pieces (-10 percent), light commercial-15.9 thousand pieces (-8 percent), trucks-10.5 thousand pieces (-40 percent), and buses-1.6 thousand (-49 percent).
