The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has confirmed plans to produce an expeditionary version of the updated Patriot SUV, which will be designed for operation in severe off-road conditions, the press service of the enterprise told Gazeta.Ru.
For now, only the gasoline version will be available, and the release of the diesel version is under development due to the design features of the unit.
At the same time, the new product will be equipped with a full-fledged electronic stabilization system (ESC) with cornering braking control functions and an off-road mode, and its appearance on the market is expected next year after completion of test cycles, including winter tests for the 2026-2027 season.
The restyled Patriot will also receive LED optics, an updated steering wheel, and a two-liter diesel engine with 136 hp. Russian-made, a new six-speed manual gearbox and an electromechanical transfer case with “puck” control.
