Ulyanovsk residents have begun factory testing of the flagship SUV with a two-liter diesel engine. Izvestia writes about this with reference to the UAZ press service. The updated Patriot will receive such an engine, the premiere of which is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year – more precisely, in November, according to insiders.
“The test team has begun a comprehensive testing program for the new UAZ Patriot modification in the line,” the press service said. Details about the tests have not yet been disclosed.
The upcoming Patriot update will be the first such large-scale one since 2016. The model will be sold in both petrol and diesel versions. The latter will receive a two-liter engine produced at the Sollers plant in Alabuga. On commercial Sollers it produces 130 horsepower, and for the Patriot the output will be slightly increased – up to 136 horsepower.
UAZ has raised prices for new SUVs in 2025. The official UAZ dealer in Germany explained the success of the “Loaf” in Europe. The timing of UAZ vehicle updates has been revealed.
The diesel engine will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission, which is also produced in Russia at the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant (ZMZ). In addition, the Patriot will be slightly refreshed in appearance and the interior will be made more comfortable.
Now the SUV is offered with a single 2.7 engine producing 150 horsepower, combined with a five-speed manual transmission. The box has recently been improved: the pressure inside has been reduced, oil leaks have been eliminated and reliability has generally been improved. The improved “mechanics” are going to be introduced into production at the beginning of the coming year.
