An incorrect driving position is harmful to men’s health, warns the chief urologist of the Bud Zdorov clinic network, Maxim Ryabov.

According to the doctor, incorrect body position while driving leads to stagnation of blood in the pelvis and varicose veins, especially in those who are predisposed to this.

To avoid problems, Ryabov advises adjusting the chair so that your knees are just below your hips and your back fits snugly against the back of the seat. If necessary, you should use lumbar support – special pads can be purchased at any auto store. The doctor paid special attention to gel and orthopedic pads on the seat: they reduce pressure on the perineum and help prevent blood stagnation.

The urologist also recommends careful handling of heated seats – overheating in the pelvic area is extremely harmful, especially in the warm season.

Those who drive for a long time need to take a break for 10-15 minutes every two hours, get out of the car and warm up: squat, jump, bend and rotate the pelvis.

In addition, it is important to maintain a drinking regime, not tolerate the urge to urinate, and if you are prone to varicose veins, use compression garments.
