Volkswagen plans to start selling its Chinese models in Europe

As reported by Carscoops, Due to falling margins (just 4.3%), stiff competition from local brands and global overproduction, the company is exploring the option of importing its models designed and manufactured in China into the European market.

As Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume said at a meeting with investors, a final decision on this issue has not yet been made and depends on duties, logistics costs and other factors.

First of all, Chinese models (for example, ID. Aura T6 or ID. Unyx 09, created with Xpeng) are planned to be exported to the markets of Asia, the Middle East, India, South America and Africa. Europe is a “possible step for the coming years.”

It is also possible that some models will be assembled in Germany.
