Assembly of the French competitor Lada Largus may be resumed in Russia

As Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports, there is a possibility that Peugeot Partner will return to the assembly line of the plant in the Kaluga region. Journalists made this conclusion based on a video published in the telegram channel of the Russian Government – for a second the B9 prototype, aka Peugeot Partner, appears in the frame. This model was previously assembled at the Kaluga plant, when it belonged to Stellantis and Mitsubishi and operated under the guise of PSMA Rus.

Rossiyskaya Gazeta claims that the plant in the Kaluga region has mastered the welding process, and it is planned to launch a painting shop soon. It can be assumed that mass production of the Peugeot Partner will begin before the end of 2025.

Partner will become the third foreign car produced at the former PSMA Rus plant, which is now controlled by the Automotive Technologies company: since mid-2024, the Citroen C5 Aircross has been assembled there, and at the end of last year, the Chinese Haval M6 crossover was also registered at the site.

New Havals will be assembled at the ex-Peugeot-Citroen plant in Kaluga. The PSMA Rus Kaluga automobile plant has a new sign for the Citroen C5 Aircross.

As for the B9, aka Peugeot Partner/Citroen Berlingo, it was assembled at PSMA Rus from November 2020 to the spring of 2022. The model was offered with a van body in two lengths: L1 (4380 mm) and L2 (4628 mm). Under the hood, the Russian-made Partner had a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 115 horsepower, and the alternative was a 90-horsepower diesel engine coupled with a five-speed manual transmission.

The Automotive Technologies company previously announced the appearance on the Russian market of a new Peugeot model, which will be supplied from China. What kind of car it will be is still unknown, but it is obvious that we are talking about one of the models presented on the Chinese market. The local line includes the Peugeot 408 and 508 sedans, the 408X cross-coupe, as well as the 5008 and 4008 crossovers, the latter of which is already being supplied to Russia.
