The new BYD Great Tang will be the largest and most expensive model of the Chinese automaker. The new product has the following dimensions: length is from 5263 mm, width – 1999 mm, height – from 1790 to 1800 mm. The wheelbase reaches 3130 mm.
At the start of sales, BYD Great Tang will only be able to offer electric versions. The basic rear-wheel drive version develops 408 hp. and 365 Nm, and its battery has a capacity of 105.7 kWh. Acceleration to “hundreds” takes 7.8 seconds, the range is 800 km according to the CLTC cycle.
The cost of the initial version is 240 thousand yuan, that is, 2.6 million rubles. In this price range, the Chinese auto industry offers several luxury crossovers, which include the Lixiang L9, Aito M9 and others.

There are also all-wheel drive options, and later the range will be expanded by hybrids. It is expected that they will be more affordable than pure electric cars due to the use of less capacious traction batteries.
