The Ferrari 12Cilindri range includes the Manuale version, an exclusive limited edition of the supercar that brings back the manual transmission with the iconic gated shifter to Maranello cars after a 14-year hiatus. The car’s circulation is limited to 1,499 copies, and the starting price is 590 thousand euros – 190 thousand euros more expensive than the standard version. But there is an important nuance.

In fact, the car uses a standard 8-speed preselective “robot”, but the driver operates three pedals and a gear lever. The electronics are configured so that if the driver makes a mistake, the car’s engine will stall.

Pressing the clutch pedal and moving the lever along steel grooves is read by digital sensors. A special system of springs, cams and actuators perfectly recreates the force, clicks and resistance of a real manual transmission.
