Fit Service listed 12 problems that owners of Chinese cars faced this winter

Despite the absence of massive breakdowns of engines and gearboxes, winter revealed the vulnerabilities of Chinese cars – problems affected electronics and locking mechanisms. Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the international franchise network of car service centers Fit Service, spoke about this in an interview with Motor magazine.

“Owners of new Chinese cars have most questions about electronics. Large displays and dashboards become capricious in the cold: they may take longer to respond, freeze, or display errors in driver assistance systems. In snowfall, cameras and sensors are covered up, which causes parking sensors and assistants to turn off. Some models receive complaints because of frozen door locks and cables, spontaneous locking of doors, non-working power windows and retractable sills,” Rodionov said.

Among the calls to car services, there were also complaints about the ineffective operation of the air conditioning system: the owners noted that the interior warmed up to a comfortable temperature too slowly.

When starting the engine in cold weather, the situation has improved markedly compared to several years ago. Nevertheless, in winter the service was still contacted with typical problems. The engine can start and immediately stall, make an unusual noise when cold, and the car can jerk or jerk. Before warming up, gearboxes sometimes turn on with a delay, the expert noted.

However, Chinese manufacturers respond very quickly to feedback and refine calibrations and technologies in the next batches of their cars, Rodionov added.

Earlier, Russians were told about serious problems with their cars in the spring.
