Last fall, the model disappeared from the company’s official website, and its sales were actually curtailed – then it seemed logical that this was done in order to clear space for the updated “relative” Belgee X50+, and at the same time, step by step, continue the policy of transferring the brand in Russia to camouflage brands. However, Geely has now confirmed that, together with Coolray, it still has far-reaching plans for our market.
This is the same crossover that is well known to Russians, built on the BMA modular platform. It went through not only restyling of the exterior and interior, but also received a set of second-level ADAS electronic assistants, which was not previously offered for this mass model in the Russian Federation.

There are no changes under the hood of the new Coolray. The model is equipped with a proven 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. The power of the power unit is 147 hp, and the maximum torque is 270 Nm in the range from 2000 to 3500 rpm.

Visually, the updated Coolray is easy to distinguish from its predecessor: it has a wide radiator grille with a wave-like pattern and an updated front bumper with a diffuser. In top versions, the model is offered with 18-inch black wheels and red brake calipers. Chinese engineers have thoroughly rethought the interior concept. Instead of previous solutions, a digital dashboard with a diagonal of almost 9 inches and a modern multimedia system with a 14.6-inch screen based on the Flyme operating system have appeared here. The list of winter options, traditionally important for Russian buyers, includes electric heating of the entire area of the windshield.

The fundamental difference from the pre-restyling version was the appearance of a second level of electronic driver assistance systems (ADAS) in the equipment. It includes Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Reverse Cross Traverse Assist (RCTA/RCW) and Door Open Warning (DOW). Previously, such a set of electronic assistants was not offered in the model, and it is this innovation, along with an enlarged screen, that takes the updated Coolray to a new level.

What happened
The pre-restyling version of the Geely Coolray, which was sold in Russia until the end of 2025, was equipped with a 12.3-inch multimedia system screen, an analogue or 7-inch digital instrument panel (depending on the configuration) and only a basic set of electronic assistants: regular cruise control without lane keeping and intelligent tracking functions. Heating of the windshield in the pre-restyling version was implemented only in the wiper area, while the new Coolray offers full heating of the entire area.

As for prices, there are no direct price lists for the new product yet. However, you can navigate by the market situation. The previous generation of Geely Coolray at the time of leaving the market at the end of 2025 cost from 2.7 million rubles for the basic Comfort package to 3.08 million rubles for the top-end Exclusive. At the same time, dealers provided a “special benefit” (direct discount) in the amount of 60 to 120 thousand rubles, depending on the configuration.

The closest “relative” of the new product is already present on the Russian market – the Belgee X50+ crossover, which is produced in Belarus and is a localized version of the Geely Coolray. Sales of Belgee X50+ started in March 2026. Prices for standard versions range from 2.3 million to 2.7 million rubles. In April 2026, a top special version of Onyx appeared with maximum equipment, including a 14.6-inch screen and a full set of ADAS, priced from 2.8 million rubles.
Thus, given that the Geely Coolray is a “purebred” Chinese car (unlike the Belarusian Belgee assembly) and is traditionally positioned as a more fashionable model, the likely price range for the updated Coolray in Russia will be 2.7-3.2 million rubles. Dealers will announce final figures later.
