German Volkswagen factories will put the production of Chery

The fourth largest car manufacturer of China is close to the completion of the transaction on the purchase of two factories in Germany, reports Automotive News Europe. Insiders believe that we are talking about Volkswagen sites in [Дрездене и Оснабрюке](https://motor.ru/news/vw-china-16-01-2025.htm), which the Germans are going to close to reduce costs. Cheri confirmed the intentions to expand European production, but the potential seller was not disclosed.

CHECHICIAL Vice President Charlie Zhang said that the company is actively negotiating with a certain company from Europe on the purchase of local plants.

But the final decision is still far away. The parties have to solve a number of issues, since “the situation in Germany is very difficult”: it is necessary to take into account the standards of production, the requirements of trade unions, establish supplies and calculate costs.

The Chinese are looking closely at Volkswagen factories in Germany Triple Premiere: Volkswagen showed three Volkswagen concept products at once in the United States

Insiders say that at one of the Chery plants, the assembly of Lepas crossovers, a new brand launched only a few months ago. Her first -born will be the Cher’s Tiggo 8 Plus under another nameplate, and in general, the European line will include two compact and one medium -sized crossover with different installations – ICE connected by hybrid and fully electric ones.

For Chery, this will be not the first experience in Europe. Since last year, the Chinese under the EBRO brand produce cars at the Nissan ex-Wissan ex-Wall, which avoids import tariffs. In the near future, the enterprise will expand: Chery will launch the production of hybrids and add electric Omoda and Jaecoo.
