Hyundai Palisade lost its diesel engine with a generation change

As Carscoops reports, citing insiders, the new Palisade will be offered in its native South Korea with gasoline engines and a hybrid power plant, but the diesel option has been excluded from the range. The old 3.8-liter petrol V6 also dropped out – it was replaced by a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 unit. In addition, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine has been added to the engine lineup.

It is worth noting that the announced engines will be relevant for Asian markets; model specifications for other countries may differ. One way or another, the diesel Palisade is no longer available to Koreans, but they will be offered a 334-horsepower hybrid modification, for which a power reserve of more than a thousand kilometers is stated – insiders claim that the crossover is capable of traveling up to 1020 kilometers.

The new naturally aspirated V6 3.5, which replaced the outdated 3.8-liter unit, develops 280 horsepower, and the 2.5-liter turbo-four produces 290 horsepower, according to the leak.

In addition, details are provided about the dimensions of the new Palisade: it is known that the model has significantly increased in size with the change of generation, and now its length is 5050 millimeters – 55 millimeters more than its predecessor. Thus, the Palisade is only 10 millimeters shorter than the recently debuted electric Hyundai Ioniq 9.

Hyundai has declassified the new generation Palisade. The Chinese Hyundai Tucson L has been updated with unique technology. Hyundai has introduced the flagship crossover Ioniq 9.

Inside, the new Palisade has two 12.3-inch screens integrated into the rounded front panel. The gearbox selector has been moved to the steering column, freeing up space on the central tunnel for the wireless charging compartment and USB-C ports. Hyundai previously acknowledged that customers were dissatisfied with touch controls, so the Palisade retained physical buttons to control climate control and other functions.

Korean Car Blog, in turn, clarifies that in South Korea the model will be offered in three trim levels, Exclusive, Prestige and Calligraphy, and the palette will include new shades Ecotronic Gray Pearl, Cast Iron Brown Pearl, Galaxy Maroon Pearl and Lazzi Blue Pearl. The new Palisade will cost from 42.5 to 57.5 million won (3-4.2 million rubles at today’s exchange rate). For comparison, the outgoing generation is estimated at 38.96 to 54.91 million won (2.8-4 million rubles.
