Several years ago, Ruslan Belashov, ex-chairman of the board of A Just Russia, purchased a Cadillac Escalade. Towards the end of the three-year warranty, the American SUV began to have typical problems: the engine knocked, the roof began to leak. The dealer refused to fix the problems, so the politician went to court. The motorist won the case and was awarded 300 million rubles. This was reported by the Mash Telegram channel.

“Later he bought another Cadillac from the St. Petersburg company Avtopole – XT5. And it also turned out to be defective. It turned out that the driver’s door was installed crookedly at the factory, which resulted in a chip in the paintwork. The dealer again refused, and the former official again filed a lawsuit and again won the case,” the publication says.

According to the channel, in the new proceedings the court decided to recover 50 million rubles from the defendants. However, the plaintiff was not satisfied with this amount, and he filed an appeal demanding that the payment be increased to 150 million. At this time, the decision has not changed. Thus, over several years, the total amount of funds won by Belashov reached 350 million rubles.
