Rostselmash: It is more difficult to compete with Belarus than with China

The co -owner of the enterprise Konstantin Babkin in an interview with Kommersant complained about unequal conditions of competition. Rostselmash recalled: preferential loans are operating in Belarus, and the buyer can purchase a combine of the Belarusian assembly, having received about 15% of subsidies per year at the expense of the budget of a neighboring country. There are no privileges for Russian agricultural machinery, and Chinese cars “did not enter” consumers.

Subsidies from the Belarusian budget work: in 2021, manufacturers of a neighboring country occupied 17% of the Russian combine market, and in 2024 their share increased to 40%. According to the co -owner of Rostselmash, it is now the Belarusian companies “squeeze out” Russian competitors from their own market, and this happens “due to absolutely unequal competition”.

The expansion of Chinese manufacturers is not so dangerous. According to Konstantin Babkin, products from the Middle Kingdom are capricious: it breaks in severe heat and frost. There are also problems with the service. However, without a utilsbor, it would be difficult to compete with China in the long run: their products are 30% cheaper, and companies quickly study. Also, utilsbor allows Russian firms not to be afraid that Trump will provide John Deer benefits and force domestic manufacturers to survive.

Nevertheless, Rostselmash does not see a system policy aimed at developing the industry. It is still much more expensive to produce agricultural equipment in Russia than abroad, and the situation for machine builders is crisis due to high interest rates and overstocking.
