Governor Gleb Nikitin spoke about the acquisition of the first copy of the Volga K50 crossover before the official start of sales in his Telegram channel. He said that he had already driven the car and called it wonderful – spacious, dynamic and comfortable.
“We support our auto industry and test the capabilities of the new Volga K50. I purchased the car before the official start of sales in order to evaluate its characteristics and make recommendations for further localization. We are developing production in Nizhny Novgorod,” Nikitin wrote.
The governor added that the Volga K50 has many modern functions, including “electronic assistants” and expressed confidence that the car will be in demand among buyers. He also mentioned the importance of creating additional jobs, new component production and the development of the auto cluster.
The revived Volga is a Russian brand launched in 2026 by the Passenger Car Production (PLA) company in Nizhny Novgorod. Essentially, these are Chinese Geely models (Atlas, Monjaro, Preface), adapted for the Russian market. The lineup will include the C50 sedan, as well as the K40 and K50 crossovers. The start of sales is planned for the summer of 2026.
