Volga car production started in Nizhny Novgorod

According to the Volga press service, new Volga cars will be available for sale at official dealers in the summer of 2026.

“In Nizhny Novgorod, the preparation of the plant’s infrastructure and equipment for mass production has been completed. The first car has already started its journey along the assembly line,” reports the Volga press service.

The line will be represented by three models: a mid-size crossover (D-SUV), a compact SUV (C-SUV) and a D-class sedan. The first model to be announced was the Volga K50.

The Volga K50 is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 238 hp. s, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The car received all-wheel drive and adaptive suspension. The length of the crossover is 4770 mm, the wheelbase is 2845 mm. The winter package is included in the basic package.

The project is being implemented by the Passenger Car Production Company (PLA). The maximum capacity of the Nizhny Novgorod enterprise is 110 thousand cars per year.

The Russians nicknamed the new K50 crossover “Volzhara” due to the fact that the model is based on the Geely Monjaro crossover.
