In the nineties of the last century, the Tolyatti companies “Aktiv” and “AB+Plastik” created the “Rodeo” project based on the classic three-door “Niva”. As a result of tuning, the SUV received front and rear optics from the VAZ-2108, as well as an original body kit.
It’s much more important that the creators of “Rodeo” cut off the standard metal roof and installed a fiberglass cap instead. In addition, the authors of the project provided an open version, where the rear part of the body was closed with a folding top.
The cars were demonstrated at the II Russian International Motor Show in 1995 (in the title photo), and their production was carried out until 1998 inclusive, but the number of cars produced is unknown.
For a long time it was known that at least one copy of the convertible survived to this day – its owner even published small notes for some time, but the last entry was dated autumn 2011.
