Demand for trucks is growing: last year, sales reached 29.2 thousand units, calculated the analysts of Avtostat. Compared to popular segments, there are few, but at the same time it is a record result in the history of the Russian car market. In 2023, 65 percent of pickups were realized – 17.7 thousand pieces. The leaders have Chinese brands, and the domestic UAZ continues to lose position.
Last year, the Chinese Great Wall, in the arsenal of which Poer and Kingkong Poer, was the leader of the segment of new pickups. The brand realized 6.9 thousand pickups, which is 37 percent more than in 2023, and took about a quarter of the market.
The JAC with pickups T8, T8 Pro and T9 was able to climb the second line. He sold almost six thousand cars and showed a more active increase in demand than that of compatriots from Great Wall – 2.5 times.

This time, UAZ managed to become only the third in the annual standings, despite the noticeable increase in sales. The Russians acquired 4.1 thousand pickups of the domestic brand – for example, a quarter more than a year earlier. Behind UAZ are Changan (3.1 thousand pickups, growth of 3.5 times) and Sollers (three thousand cars).
Soon in the Russian assortment of pickups a novelty will appear – Bolden S7 from Sinotruk. It will be offered with a diesel engine with a capacity of 177 forces, an eight -band automatic and all -wheel drive with a “lowering” and blocking. Sales will begin in the first half of 2025.
