Already the second city is decided on such a ban: following the Blagoveshchensk, the rental of electric scooters and other means of personal mobility (SI) was banned in Elabuga (Republic of Tatarstan). The reason for the prohibition on Sim is the lack of infrastructure. The authorities explained that in Elabug there are no sufficient number of bicycle paths and special strips for scooters and other similar devices. On the sidewalks, they interfere with pedestrians and create danger.
While the problem with the infrastructure is not resolved, the rental SIM in the city will remain prohibited. “Illegal” devices will be evacuated to a parking lot.
