A newcomer will soon appear in the Chinese brand’s lineup – the G7 compact cross. It will occupy a niche between models [G6](https://motor.ru/news/cheaper-xpengg6-12-04-2024.htm) and [G9](https://motor.ru/news/krossover-xpeng-g9-stal-novym-flagmanom-marki-10-08-2022.htm) and is expected to go on sale in the first half of this year. So far, Xpeng has published only photographs of the new product, and some of the characteristics became known thanks to the Chinese Ministry of Industry.
The design of the G7 is recognizable: at the front there is a thin strip of daytime running lights, like other Xpeng, and the main headlight units are located lower. The sloping roof ends with a spoiler-visor, the door handles are “recessed” into the body, and a monolight is stretched along the stern. The base G7 will weigh 2085 kilograms, the top version – 2160, according to the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry.
The G7 is equal in length to the “older” G9: from bumper to bumper the crossover is 4.89 meters. The wheelbase of the new product is 10 centimeters shorter and is 2.89 meters; the width and height are 1.93 and 1.66 meters, respectively.
Xpeng
There is no information about the power plant yet. It is only known that all versions will receive lithium iron phosphate batteries CALB (China Aviation Lithium Battery). In terms of power, you can focus on other Xpeng: the G9 is equipped with electric motors with a total output of up to 551 horsepower, and in the “junior” G6 it reaches 487 horsepower.
Volkswagen will start building cars on a Chinese platform. Thousands of people are lined up for the new Xpeng electric car at the price of Vesta. XPeng will present at least four new products in 2025.
According to the media, the initial cost of the “seven” will be set at 200 thousand yuan (2.8 million in ruble terms). Sales will start in the first half of 2025.
Earlier, the “national sports car of China” was shown on the Internet, which will become part of the JMEV brand line and will receive the index 01. It is being developed by the startup Tianjin Gongjianpai Auto Technology with strong financial support from Xiaomi.
