For more than five years, engines stole the damage from the Kia factory.

Indian journalists found out that nine hundred engines were quietly taken out from the factory near the city of Pencond. The police believe that we are talking about an organized criminal group: in collusion with the attackers there were former and current KIA officers, and engines gradually exported for more than five years. As units assembled, they left the territory so far a riddle.

The leadership of Kia Motors in India refused to comment on the merits, but noted that the incident did not affect the work of the enterprise. It is curious that the lack of engines was discovered only in March 2025 after the audit. Then the police took up the investigation. At first, law enforcement agencies suggested that the engines were stolen during transportation, but everything indicates another scenario: the units were taken directly from the factory.

The authorities of Kazakhstan prepared a project on how to return Kia to Russia basic configurations: what the KIA auto giants are silent about the latest sedan in Russia: he replaced Cerato

The police department believes that the investigation is “moving around fast pace”, but there are no detainees yet. The KIA Indian plant produces Carens, Seltos, Sonet and Syros, and the production capacity is 300-400 thousand units per year. The amount of damage is not officially called, but according to The Hindu, we are talking about at least 500 million rupees (about six million dollars).

The severity of Indian laws is often compensated by the optionality of their implementation. For example, in Delhi has been trying to limit the operation of old machines for ten years to improve the environmental situation. Since April 1, a ban on refueling cars over 10-15 years old was even introduced in the metropolis.
