Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio, VW Polo and Toyota Camry became the most accident-prone in Russia

In the past 2025, it was the cars of these models that recorded the largest number of accidents. The high accident rate is explained by the fact that there are a lot of cars of these models in the Russian fleet. The fact that they are used in taxis also pushes up the accident statistics.

The service for searching and checking used cars Avtocod has calculated that in 2025, 21.5 thousand accidents occurred with Hyundai Solaris cars in Russia. In second place in terms of accident rates is the Kia Rio of all generations: cars of this model were involved in 21.2 thousand accidents. In third place is the Volkswagen Polo, which was involved in 17.6 thousand accidents over the year.

Budget foreign cars in this ranking are followed by Toyota Camry (14.2 thousand accidents). The 11 cars with the highest number of accidents over the year also included Lada Granta and Priora, Ford Focus, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Toyota Corolla, BMW 5 Series and Skoda Octavia.

The authors of the study note that some of these cars, including Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio, continue to be actively used in taxis, and therefore are intensively used, accumulate high mileage and regularly get into accidents.
