Prior to this, a traffic inspector fined the Robodostavka company 300 thousand rubles for the actions of a food delivery robot in the center of the capital.
“By the resolution of the senior state inspector of road supervision of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow dated May 5, 2025, Robodostavka LLC was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Article 12.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (damage to roads, as well as deliberate obstruction of traffic), and was subjected to administrative punishment in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 300 thousand rubles,” it was said in the materials of the case of an administrative offense.
The Moscow Meshchansky Court overturned the fine issued to the Robodostavka company because of its autonomous couriers. The traffic police claimed that the robots, moving along the sidewalk in the city center, forced pedestrians to bypass them on the roadway, creating interference.
The court did not agree with this. The decision states that the delivery robot is not a vehicle within the meaning of the traffic rules, and there was no threat to traffic safety. Passage along the sidewalk remained free, and the decision of some pedestrians to step onto the roadway, according to the court, does not prove that they were forced to do so. The company was found not guilty.
