In Russia, the new car market grew by 31% in March

During the month, 104.3 thousand new passenger cars were sold, the analytical agency Autostat reported. In terms of the number of cars sold, Lada leads the market with a result of 25.2 thousand units. It is followed by the Chinese Haval, which sold 14.8 thousand cars in March. Tenet is in third place with a result of 10.3 thousand cars.

The top five also included Geely and Belgee, which sold 6.3 thousand cars and 5.1 thousand cars in Russia during the month, respectively. The top ten best-selling also included Changan (3.4 thousand cars), the Japanese Toyota (2.8 thousand cars), which is not officially represented on the Russian market, as well as the brands Jetour, Jaecoo and Solaris.

At the end of the first quarter of 2026, 264.9 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 7.3% more than in the same period last year. In the model rating, Lada Granta is in first place, followed by Haval Jolion, Tenet T7, Lada Vesta and Lada Niva Travel.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the total number of new cars sold in January-March 2026 (including light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses) amounted to 299.7 thousand units, which is 4% higher than the same period last year. The market for domestically produced cars exceeded 181 thousand units in January-March.
