The appearance of the all-new Toyota RAV4 was revealed before its debut

A photograph of the SUV, allegedly taken during the GAC-Toyota dealer conference, was circulated on the Internet. Sources believe that the picture shows the new Toyota Wildlander, that is, the alter ego of the “global” RAV4. Current crossovers differ in body kits and optics, but they have common interiors and the central part of the body. The public premiere is expected in April: at exhibitions in Shanghai or New York.

The design of the new Toyota matches the style of the current Camry XV80 and does not contradict the spy shots. It seems that the Japanese concern is aiming at an evolutionary update, that is, the “sixth” RAV4 will be a deeply modernized fifth-generation crossover. The doors and fender stampings have changed slightly, and Toyota is also faithful to the classic handles.

According to unofficial data, in most markets the only possible option will be the RAV4 with a hybrid powertrain. Toyota’s strategy was not a surprise, because the Camry XV80 is also electrified. Chinese variations of the Toyota RAV4 are expected at the Shanghai Motor Show at the end of April. Perhaps the world debut of the model will take place a week earlier on the other side of the ocean: at the auto show in New York. In less significant markets, the crossover will replace the generation later, so the current RAV4 can last on the assembly line until 2026.
