The Japanese will bring a five -door Suzuki Jimny Indian production

Suzuki is already practicing the supply of cars from India to native Japan – for example, the Fronx crossover, produced by the Indian Maruti Suzuki, is sold in the Japanese market. Now the dealers in Japan will also have a five -door Jimny, which is collected in India. And the whole point is that it is easier to establish supplies from India for Suzuki (and cheaper) than to localize production at the Japanese factory.

The five -door Jimny will be brought to Japan in the same form in which it is sold in India: it is an SUV equipped with an atmospheric engine with a volume of 1.5 liters with a capacity of 102 horsepower and 130 nm of torque, with a hard -driven drive with a lowering transmission. The Japanese will be offered a choice between a five -speed manual gearbox and a four -band automatic machine.

The five -door Jimny dimensions differs from the basic option with three doors. The wheelbase of the SUV is 340 millimeters larger, and the length is 3890 millimeters. For comparison: the three -door Jimny, which is produced in Japan, from the nose to the stern has 3395 millimeters.

The equipment of a five-door model will include adaptive cruise control and a complex of auxiliary systems. There will be only one equipment, it wears the FC designation.

Acceptance of orders is already open, although the first SUVs of Indian assembly will reach Japan no earlier than April. The five -door Suzuki Jimny can be ordered for 2.65 million yen (1.69 million rubles at the course of today), while a three -door SUV of local production costs from 1.96 million (1.25 million rubles).

In a month, Suzuki is planning to sell 1.2 thousand such cars, and the plan for a year is 14,400. For comparison: sales of three -door Jimny in Japan reach 40 thousand copies per year.
